Bucks parties are, quite simply, an Australian institution. They give guys around the country the opportunity to celebrate their friendship and of course, toast the future of the groom-to-be just before the best day – or as it is often said, the last day of his old life.
Usually the Best Man is in charge of planning a bucks, so if that’s you, why not get creative and think about a destination celebration?
Australia has some incredible areas to discover, so whether you’re after an action-packed city escape, a tropical getaway or a chilled-out weekend, we’ve got you covered.
Boasting some of the best beaches in Australia, there are lots of great group outdoor activities to take advantage of on the sandy strip, like surfing lessons, parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking and scuba diving.
For some action away from the water, check out the Supercar Experience, just 30 minutes outside the Gold Coast in Norwell. Here, your gang can drive laps in a race-prepared Ford Falcon or V8 Holden Commodore, and switch-seats with your pro-driver for some hot laps that will exceed speeds of 200kph.
Back at Surfers, head up to Australia’s tallest building Q1 where you can check out the incredible coastline from the observation deck and later, watch the chefs’ slice and dice at the lively Hanazono Teppanyaki Japanese Restaurant.
…and don’t forget to book your entertainment 😉
As one of the most livable cities in the world, Melbourne is jam-packed with adventures for every buck’s party imaginable.
Sports-mad? This is the sport capital of Australia, so depending on the season, your celebrations should definitely include a day out to the AFL, cricket, tennis or the races. Melbourne is also bustling with plenty of awesome bars, but perhaps the best is Naked in the Sky, a spacious rooftop bar on Brunswick Street that boasts the best pintxos and Spanish beers, as well as a 360-degree view of the city.
Of course, the city is renowned for Crown Melbourne, which features world-class restaurants, bars and clubs, and of course, the casino.
If you really want to plan something unforgettable for the groom, organise a private poker tournament, where you can live like a high-roller and enjoy a private table, topless dealers and gorgeous bikini waitresses.
Just a couple of hours north of Sydney, this is the perfect place to unwind and soak up the surroundings.
Golfing is one of the best ways to chill and have a laugh – regardless of your level of expertise – and Cypress Lakes is one of the finest courses in the country. You and your mates can take advantage of the 18-hole, 6,467-metre course, which has panoramic views of the Hunter’s famous vineyards.
As Australia’s oldest wine region, there are over 150 wineries in the area, so you’re spoilt for choice. However, if your group is keen to kick back in the sun with a few cool ales, head to Potters Brewery for an organised tour, where you can you can taste-test the award-winning beers. Afterwards, you can all chill outside in the beer garden and enjoy the live music and great food.
Of course, the Hunter Valley features some incredible scenery, so you could really impress your groom by capping off your weekend with a hot-air balloon ride to check out the landscape, spot some kangaroos and take in the surrounding Brokenback range.
If live music is your thing, Goldfish Bar & Kitchen is a late night cocktail bar that has live music on Saturday nights throughout the summer.
As a nationwide adult entertainment agency, Absolute Blonde can provide the glamour for any of your bucks party events, including in the Hunter Valley.
Right across the country, Australia has some pretty sweet spots for a buck’s party.
No matter which destination you choose, it’s important to use your imagination, keep everyone entertained, and importantly, make sure the groom-to-be is feeling relaxed before his big day.
